Meh
Well - one of my favourite words I constantly use is now part of the Oxford Dictionary, with reference to exactly where I got it from.
According to SMH, the word 'meh' began popularity after appearing in The Simpsons, where Bart and Lisa say 'meh' in response to Homer going on a road trip. But where I got it from, was in an earlier episode (which elludes me presently - here's a list where it's been mentioned numerous times).
Anyway, it's Simpsons - and it's cool.

"Cable guy!"

I hate to admit it, but after reading this article, it triggered a few thoughts from my previous experiences.
At a previous place of employment at an electrical store I had worked for, for about 5 years (as casual, part time, and full time) I've had to sell many items that never came with the cables required. This was because there is purely not one standard setup for everyone as the electronic consumer has different layouts, products and brands.
What this company did was encourage selling cables as 'add-ons'. Mainly they were home branded cables and the company would make a profit, especially if the customer would by a branded name. The cost price would be significantly low (eg. $1.25) and the shelf item would be priced about $10 - 15. Most of these cables would also be produced from the same manufacturer, just like how most AA batteries are. They simply slap on a different brand each time it runs through the packaging.
If the customer was going to purchase many items and ring up a high-value docket, you would throw in the home brand cable in for free to seal the deal. Sacrificing $1.25 for a $2000 docket is good value for the company. However, the picky customer would not go for the home brand cable, and would ask for a high quality brand name product that costs around $150, but with a cost price of $120. The company would claim that the $150 cable is well worth the purchase, but when it comes down to the crunch - the average joe wouldn't and couldn't tell the difference once everything is hooked up and in process. Therefore - the $150 cable is technically useless while the $15 cable that's worth $1.25 cost price would do the exact same job.
It all comes down to how fussy you are, and what bullshit you believe in.
Hell - the average person is dumb enough to purchase a bottle of water for $3.00 when it's free from a neighbour's garden tap. Or buying a pet rock from a store when you can find a large pebble rock at the beach and paint eyes on it - for free.
Sometimes things aren't all it is cracked up to be.
Don't believe the hype - but feel free to so you know you don't feel like you've had your wallet raped.

Guests on Californication
How friggen cool is Season 2 of Californication?
Twin Peaks star Mädchen Amick, plus Family Ties girl / Arrested Development hooker / Jason Bateman's sister Justine Bateman make appearances in the show.
Just like a fine wine, they mature better with age.

Harold gets grumpy
Ian Smith, who plays the iconic Harold Bishop from Neighbours, is up in arms about "idiots" and "fools" who drive by his house and yelling abuse at him for leaving Neighbours.
Such a shame... I love him mostly in this clip from Rush - aka The Late Show's Olden Days.

Shaun Micallef as Billy Connolly
Last time I saw Shaun Micallef's impersonation of Billy Connolly was on the early years of Full Frontal.
The other week - he dusted off his scottish accent and brought it out on Newstopia.
