Dexter & Californication
I managed to track down the first episode of Dexter Season 3, and I can say it does not disappoint.
They've picked up where they left off from Season 2. It makes you wonder how long Dexter can still get away with his doings... maybe all falls apart in Season 3, maybe not.
Californication Season 2 is off to a great start, where once again, picks up exactly where Season 1 finished.
More nudity, swearing, drug usage - all of TV taboo is right there within the first 2 episodes.
Keep it going Showtime. You're knocking HBO off its perch with quality TV!

McLeod and his Daughters hit a Drought
Not that I watched the show, but McLeod's Daughters have faced the chopping block at Channel 9 and will not be renewed after the 8th season.
Channel 9 CEO David Gyngell has not said the reasons why, but praised the show for becoming an iconic show for the channel.
Watch their timeslot for cheap American reality TV, dodgy American sitcoms, or another show hosted by Eddie McGuire.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are threatening to sue the creators etc of one of the most awesome TV shows ever, Californication, over the usage of the name and other shit related to the RHCP with the album and song of the same name.

WGA Casualties
WOW - I'm all for the WGA strike that's going on in dreamland at the moment... but I didn't know it was going to severely impact my favourite shows!
You'll be surprised what shows will only get 1/2 a season due to the protest. Scrubs is a likely casualty :(

Aunty's new babysitting service
In order to win brownie points, the Aust Fed Govt have announced they will inject around $82 million into a kids only digital TV channel. One reason is to help avoid watching junk food commercials - yep, right - and will aim for the 5 - 17 yr old demographic.
Fly TV and ABC Kids anyone? ... maybe the technology was too new for everyone at the time.
If you're going to run a kids only channel (forget the crap on Foxtel), play these shows!!
Make sense? Yeah I know most are out on DVD...

Chasing Norgs

Alrighty then...
Chaser exec Julian Morrow followed Labor MP Peter Garrett while doing electoral runs, obviously trying to get a joke and react out of the Midnight Oil frontman.
Unfortunately, The Chaser team have become too popular for their own good (not their fault - I blame the likes of SMH, news.com.au, ACA and TT publishing articles on these guys to make them popular enough to destroy them. Vicious cycle.)
Anyway, the 2 topless birds behind Julian work for porn-for-bogans mag Picture, and tried to tarnish the stunt Julian had planned for Peter.
However, I'm sure with some creative thinking, Julian and Co. can put a spin on it and will make them the winners anyway.

Neighbour moves to retirement village
After 20 odd years playing Harold Bishop on Neighbours, Veteran actor Ian Smith is putting down Harold's tuba and retiring.Before you say "oh, is he going to be killed off? Will he go get washed off the rocks and suffer amnesia again?", no he isn't doing that. He's signed a contract that he'll have to make guest appearances in the show still. That usually means if they write off his character completely, the show will go into lower ratings than it already is having. That way, when the ratings are about 2 digits, they can bring Harold back as a guest - telling young juveniles how to straighten up and fly right... etc.
Onya Ian - you deserve it.
